I made this!

After buying a dozen oysters at the Fish Markets on Saturday, we still had 6 left come Sunday night, so I decided to do my version of Oysters Kilpatrick, which I do Spanish style with a bit of Sambal Olek. This time, instead of pancetta, I tried salami which worked beautifully.

Also on Sunday I decided to make homemade chicken soup after being inspired by Gervy's Husband's culinary skills. Being a bit lazy and not as particular as Cade, I used 3 chicken carcasses (which came to a grand total of .65c, score!) and a tetrapak of consommé for the stock, along with peppercorns, star anise, onion and salt and pepper.

After letting 'it' do its thing for a couple of hours, I removed the carcasses and threw in a stack of vegies. The result? Delicious!

It looks just as good as Cade's, if you ask me. I love a good short-cut, myself. I reckon he uses the chicken carcasses just for drama... I buy Campbell's Real Stock, left to my own devices.
