However, over the last couple of weeks there have been a couple of outings.
Firstly, my friend Al's birthday. She decided that she wanted to go to the Crystal Boudoir for their cabaret show. This turned out to be excellent fun, with amazing dancers, an amazing setting and more amazing cocktails. The favourite of all was the Lavender Blanc - Vodka, gin, elderflower and lavender schnapps, all topped off with Savignion Blanc. Delicious and dangerous. Kevin was sick with a cold so stayed home while I whooped it up with the ladies.
On Thursday last week my friend P and I had a light dinner before hearing her friend's jazz quartet at Bar Me in Kings Cross, the Blue Moon Quartet. The music was fab. Lots of old standards and some jazzed up modern renditions. Accompanied by a bottle of cheap but rather decent wine, we had a lovely time!
Last Sunday gone I decided to have a little birthday celebration and accompanied by a few friends, we all played Laser Tag at Darling Harbour with some randoms. It was AWESOME fun! Everyone had a such a great time we all forgot to take a photo in our laser gear. After seriously whipping arse (or actually it was vice versa as the other team were very good) we headed over to Docks for a couple of Sunday evening bevies and for those who were hungry, some eats. Unfortunately, a slightly uncooked sausage I had engulfed at the supermarket sizzle the day before came back to haunt me and I ended up spending Monday (my actual birthday) working from home. However, the parentals rang and Dad and I had nice chats. And my bro popped up on facebook for a IM chat too.
So it's Thursday and I'm back at work but getting very VERY excited! Saturday is Sevin's two year anniversary. And so, Kevin has organised a weekend getaway somewhere, leaving tomorrow. I know nothing, except that we are getting on a plane, and there are plans for tomorrow afternoon. This my part anniversary, part birthday gift from my Boy and I couldn't be more thrilled.
Viva Las Somewhere!
Finally, other than packing tonight, Sevin are going to meet a black cat that is currently being fostered by a lady who lives down by the golf course. His name is Basil (which might have to be changed to Cassius or Lennox like the boxers), he's ten (I like older cats), a great ratter (hence the name change), and he sounds loveable but also independent :-) After years of wanting my own, we're taking that next step and adopting a cat. Basil sounds like he has a good life where he is, so we're not getting too optimistic that he might be the one for us (or vice versa). Cats normally do the choosing with owners, so we'll see what he makes of us.

Happy Birthday, darlin'!! I hope your bday was all you hoped.
And, I LOVE Basil and I vote for not changing his name. I would imagine that at 10 he is pretty attached to it. Maybe you could give him an new suffix or prefix.
I cannot wait to discover where your beloved has whisked you off to. Happy Anniversary to you both!!!
xo
nice pussy!
Happy Birthday Sez and Happy Anniversary Sevin!
A 10 year old cat adoptee - my dear, I fear you are setting yourself up for pain and heartbreak... would you adopt a 50-year old child?
Yes indeed Gervy, Basil was indeed a grumpy old man and was also completely sexist. He LOVED Kevin, but was not impressed me with me. It is suspected that he was maltreated by a woman. So yes sadly, Basil was not the cat for us.
We will probably vist the Cats Protection League in Enmore in a couple of weekends time, see if anyone there is meant to come home with us. And you are right, we will be looking for a younger cat than 10 years :-)
