So a funny thing happened on the way to work last week...

So a funny thing happened on the way to work

SNAP!

So a funny thing happened on the way to work

The heel had a hairline crack in it for a couple of years, but yet these wonderful boots I eventually found in Manchester in December 2003, seemed to want to live forever.

Fortunately it was not dancing tipsy at Al's birthday when it went, but halfway to the station on Monday morning. I was slightly annoyed as I had made an effort to get an earlier train so decided not to limp back to the house, but all the way to the station and into work, as I had a spare pair of shoes there. However,
I have to say, my foot was bloody killing me when I arrived.

The good news is I can finally justify a new pair of boots! The bad news is that I have been looking and can't see anything that melts my butter. Here's to the sales!

It's so sad when a beloved pair of shoes finally karks it. I had a pair from Shelleys in London -not very expensive, but quite groovy for size 11s. They died after extensive wear this past summer and I still have not been able to fill the wardrobe void they have left...

Ouch!! I have never had that happen--but I have had the top of a Cole Haan sandal come loose from the sole as I was walking across the street. It was scary.
