Inspired by my mate Grizzled Dog posts I have decided to give this method a go. Might make me a more regular blogger.
Yesterday I slept in till 7.30am after two early morning sessions with the Dons and a seriously sore left forearm from doing weights.
Made porridge while Kevin made real coffees. Ate said porridge and drank said coffee.
As I was getting dressed, I decided to wear a pair of knee high stockings under my socks for extra warmth as they had worked so well at the AFL game the Saturday evening prior. (At work I discarded shoes and socks and put on heels.)
Caught the 8.48 train to Museum. Decided I deserved another real coffee and bought a Campos blend coffee from the Two Good Eggs. Coffee was good, but since the business was taken over and turned into sandwich central, I didn't buy a muffin. Why? Because they don't sell 'em! There were small friands, and gems can you believe! Both delicious but not really what I was looking for in my breakfast requirements.
Got into work. Chatted to a colleague about her Honeymoon plans in the US. Then discovered my most annoying client had sent me an email, being annoying again. Morning spent explaining word by word, bit by bit, what I had explained several times to his colleague and him over the last week. *le sigh*
Lunch was a delicious toasted sandwich from Kevin and a banana.
After thinking how teen songstresses had changed since I looked up to them, from wholesome cool girls, to sexual beings who were all pouty, in the afternoon the other project manager and I searched and successfully played many of the early 90's hits that got us boogeying and our lead developer groaning. Paula Abdul, Collette, Tiffany, Sam Fox, Debbie Gibson. Electric Youth everybody!
A half a glass of wine and I was out the door at 5.30 for David Jones Department store cosmetics department. With me I took a list of products I was interested in trying after compiling it going through my Shop to you drop mag beauty sections.
I started at Chanel. The assistants seemed too busy watching men, so I helped myself to trying their illuminator bases and foundation. The Chanel Le Blanc de Chanel Sheer Illuminating base did it for me, but the Chanel Pro Lumiere Professional Finish Make Up coverage was too full for my taste. With no help forthcoming, I decided that my business was going to move on.
Headed to the Clinique counter where I got help straight away. Tried out a new foundation and powder. Liked the Blended Face Powder and Brush in Invisible Blend $48 but not convinced by the Super Balanced foundation in Ivory so was given a sample to try out. Am wearing it now. Still not convinced. Will see how it goes by the end of the day.
Headed over to Clairns where I tried the Beauty Flash Balm. As I really needed eye treatment and was interested to try something new I gave the eye version of the balm a go. Very impressed so bought a tube. Also got some freebie lippy samples to try on the go. They fit nicely in with my makeup for gym days.
Finally headed over to MAC where I was fully intending to give their much raved about Face and Body Foundation a go, only to discover it's only sold in their Paddo store. Played around with the concealer sticks only to discover they are brilliant! Bought Studio Touch-Up Stick in NC15. Also bought some new fake lashes in a different shape, hoping I might be able to give the full spiders a go.
At this point Kevin arrived, so he went to look at DVDs and pen refills while I amused myself in Mecca Cosmetica. Bought Ren's Moroccan Rose Otto Body Wash and played around with Stila's illuminating finishing powder - gold. Decided I might have to go back for this one in summer. Also played around with ModelCo. products, but nothing jumped out at me.
After cosmetics, Kevin and I headed over to Myer's food hall for a bite to eat (Nandos). Kevin's sister and her Fiancee had given us some Myer vouchers for Christmas and wonderfully, they were also having a sale so we headed upstairs to buy him a new pillow and us a new frypan. Ended up going with a Tefal Jamie Oliver Wok with a 30% discount. Score!
At this point Myer we're shutting so we headed home. Me by train with the frypan, Kevin by bike with the pillow.
Peppermint tea at home before crawling into bed and falling very quickly asleep.
